Fall Sangria Recipe

Cozy up with this delightful fall sangria! Bursting with seasonal flavors like apple, cinnamon, and citrus, it’s the perfect drink for gatherings or relaxing evenings.


Ingredients

For the Sangria:

  • 1 bottle (750 ml) dry red wine (e.g., Merlot or Pinot Noir)

  • 1 cup apple cider

  • 1/4 cup brandy

  • 2 tbsp maple syrup (adjust to taste)

  • 1 apple, thinly sliced

  • 1 pear, thinly sliced

  • 1 orange, thinly sliced into rounds

  • 1/2 cup fresh cranberries

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • 2-3 star anise pods (optional, for a licorice-like aroma)


For Serving:

  • 1 cup sparkling water or ginger ale (optional, for a fizzy twist)

  • Ice cubes

  • Fresh rosemary sprigs (optional garnish)


Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a large pitcher, combine the red wine, apple cider, brandy, and maple syrup. Stir well to mix.

  2. Add Fruit and Spices: Add the sliced apple, pear, orange, cranberries, cinnamon stick, and star anise to the pitcher.

  3. Chill: Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to let the flavors meld.

  4. Serve: Fill glasses with ice and pour the sangria over. For a sparkling touch, top with sparkling water or ginger ale. Garnish with a rosemary sprig for an extra festive flair.


Tips

  • Non-Alcoholic Version: Swap the wine for pomegranate or grape juice and omit the brandy.

  • Make it Sweeter: Add more maple syrup or a splash of orange juice for extra sweetness.
